The Devil and I
Skullthrone is a London-based Black Metal force, originally born in the shadows of Poland in 2006. The band began as a solitary studio project, crafting dark and unholy sounds in isolation, before eventually migrating to the gritty, metal-rich underground of London. Skullthrone’s music is a relentless blend of cold, raw aggression, steeped in the traditions of old-school Black Metal.
The band's debut release, "Grand Act of Violence," emerged on June 6, 2006, marking Skullthrone’s grim entry into the scene. With R on guitars and bass, and Anaal on drums and vocals, the album became a testament to the band’s commitment to the darkest of arts. Hellventure also contributed bass on the track "Terrorized By Satan," adding to the album's raw intensity.
The second demo was made in 2006 and released by a band in 2007. Both Demos were recorded as a duo R and Anaal.
After relocating to London, Skullthrone began collaborating with various musicians from the city's vibrant metal scene.
They gathered a strong lineup and recorded III in 2016.
III lineup:
R - Guitars
W - Guitars
Anaal - Drums
Nebulla - Bass
Khrul - Vocals
It was released on CD as a split Skullthrone / Nocrul in 2017 via
Neverheard Distro.
Hellishdust joined in 2018. Having played alongside R in Crusm, Hellishdust joined Skullthrone with the intention of performing the band's music live and recording new material.
In 2020, Skullthrone released "XIII Years of Chaos" via UKEM Records.
Its premiere was on the Black Metal Promotion YouTube Channel.
The album was a brutal celebration of over a decade of darkness, available on CD and in two limited-edition cassette versions.
The first cassette version was limited to 50 copies and included two bonus tracks. The second was an ultra-limited edition of just 16 copies, presented in a wooden box containing a cassette, a black candle, three rusty nails for crucifixion, a pin badge, a patch, a sticker, and other exclusive items.
XIII Years of Chaos Lineup:
- R - Guitars
- W - Bass
- Hellishdust - Vocals
- Anaal - Drums
Despite the album’s success, the band faced challenges, parting ways with their drummer shortly after recording. To keep the momentum alive, they enlisted their close friend Joe Burwood to handle drumming duties for live gigs.
The band is currently working on new music and a big part of it is already recorded.
