Necrocraft Classics 01 - Edgar Allan Poe: Never Bet the Devil Your Head
Synopsis
NEVER BET THE DEVIL YOUR HEAD
Edgar Allan Poe - adapted for NECROCRAFT CLASSICS
Some wagers are best left unspoken.
Toby Dammit has a wager for every occasion - and one favourite phrase:
“I’ll bet the Devil my head.”
His companion tries to reason with him, warn him and restrain his reckless nature, but Dammit treats every warning as another opportunity for mockery.
Then, during an autumn walk, the two arrive at a strange covered bridge.
There they encounter an old man whose repeated “Ahem!” seems harmless enough.
Until Dammit decides to prove that one of his ridiculous boasts is more than just words.
What follows is Edgar Allan Poe at his darkest and most absurd - a story of vanity, bad advice, stubbornness and a wager that should never have been made.
